Characters: Colonies are composed of thin, upright, bifacial fronds. Corallites are small, immersed and widely separated, with small calices.

Colour: Pale brown or cream.

Similar Species: Turbinaria bifrons, which has thicker fronds and larger more conical corallites with large calices.

Habitat: Shallow reef environments.

Abundance: Usually rare.

Taxonomic Note: Readily separated from Turbinaria bifrons in the field but this distinction may not always be clear in collections.
