Characters: Colonies are hemispherical to helmet-shaped and may be large. The surface is smooth or has irregular humps and nodules.

Colour: Usually cream or yellow but may be bright colours in shallow water.

Similar Species: Porites lobata. Calice characters are closest to P. myrmidonensis.

Habitat: Occurs with P. lutea and P. lobata on back reef margins, lagoons and fringing reefs.

Abundance: Common.
