Characters: Colonies are massive, flat or hillocky. Septa are in unequal cycles with approximately six widely spaced exsert primary septa plunging down to a small columella. Columellae are simple fused ridges. Tentacles are sometimes partly extended during the day.

Colour: Dark grey, tan or brown.

Similar Species: Parasimplastrea omanensis.

Habitat: Sheltered reef environments.

Abundance: Sometimes locally abundant.
