Characters: Colonies are hemispherical. Corallites are conical and large, with well developed septa. The coenosteum is coarse, with a dense covering of papillae forming ridges.

Colour: Brown.

Similar Species: Astreopora cucullata, which has smaller, more irregular corallites and a smoother coenosteum.

Habitat: Most reef environments.

Abundance: Uncommon.
