Characters: Colonies have irregular to submassive bases and irregular branches and may form thickets over 3 metres across. Axial corallites are small. Radial corallites may be aligned along branches, and are appressed with thick lips and wide openings.

Colour: Mottled yellowish-grey and dark green.

Similar Species: Acropora striata and A. pruinosa. See also A. parahemprichii.

Habitat: Rocky foreshores in shallow turbid water.

Abundance: Locally common.
