Families Agariciidae, Siderastreidae, Fungiidae, Oculinidae, Merulinidae, Mussidae, Pectiniidae, Caryophylliidae, Dendrophylliidae. (Townsville, Australia: Australian Institute of Marine Science), 4:1-422. (For species details see pp. 98-102 and Figs. 163-167)

Taxonomic note: Placed in genus Cycloseris by Benzoni, Arrigoni, Stefani et al. (2012) based mainly on genetic evidence. It is retained here as a Coscinaraea because it does not match the distinctive genus-level characters of Cycloseris, which represent predominantly solitary, unattached mushroom corals. It may warrant a separate generic designation, along with Psammocora explanulata, see 'Overview of coral taxonomy'
