Characters: Colonies are encrusting, laminar or form columns. Corallites are widely spaced and separated by ridges. They are uniform in size within the same colony; those of colonies from exposed upper reef slopes are relatively small.
Colour: Usually pale cream, pink or brown but may be bright green or purple.
Similar Species: Porites annae and P. lichen.
Habitat: A wide range of environments.
Abundance: Sometimes common.
