Characters: Colonies are massive with a lobed, rarely columnar surface. Corallites are deeply excavated. Septa are short and thick, the columella is small.
Colour: Brown green or lavender.
Similar Species: P. myrmidonensis which has more excavated calices and unfused ventral septa.
Habitat: Shallow reef environments.
Abundance: Common in the Marshall Islands.
