Characters: Colonies are columnar or form short stumpy branches, up to 500 mm wide, with a smooth surface. Coralltes are >1mm diameter. Septa are in typical Porites pattern with a fused triplet. There are 5 prominent pali.

Colour: Grey.

Similar Species: Porites deformis which has a knobbly growth form and different displacement of the 5 pali.

Habitat: Reef habitats.

Abundance: Probably uncommon.
