Characters: Colonies are highly fused flattened branches. Corallites are angular and superficial. Branch surfaces are smooth.
Colour: Cream or pale brown.
Similar Species: Porites deformis, which has more nodular branches, no conspicuous basal laminae and sometimes more excavated corallites. Corallites are similar to those of P. rus. Calice characters are closest to P. monticulosa.
Habitat: Shallow protected reef environments.
Abundance: Uncommon.
