Characters: Colonies have little formation of laminae, but form clumps of pointed branch-like spires, each composed of exsert costae. Well developed colonies are clumps of spires. Corallites are conspicuous.

Colour: Yellow-brown or grey.

Similar Species: Pectinia elongata, which has a similar growth-form but no laminae are formed. See also P. alcicornis.

Habitat: Lower reef slopes and enclosed embayments, especially with turbid water.

Abundance: Uncommon.
