Characters: Colonies are horizontal to vertical, unifacial, broad, irregular fronds. Fronds form upright cylindrical tubes which may be tall and branched. Corallites are irregular and only slightly outwardly inclined.
Colour: Pale- or orange-brown.
Similar Species: Leptoseris gardineri, which has narrower fronds and L. scabra, which may also form tubes. See also L. striata.
Habitat: Deep water.
Abundance: Uncommon.
