Characters: Colonies are thick laminae with widely but uniformly spaced corallites. Corallites are well defined, immersed, and thick walled. Septa are in three cycles, the first of which is prominent. Costae are fine, equal, and have fine dentations.

Colour: Green, brown or yellow, sometimes mottled.

Similar Species: Echinopora lamellosa and E. gemmacea, both of which have thinner laminae with coarser costae that have less uniform serrations.

Habitat: Shallow reef environments.

Abundance: Rare.
