Characters: Polyps are small (up to 50 mm diameter), flat and button-like. The orders of septa are well defined. Primary septa are thick.

Colour: Tan or cream.

Similar Species: Readily confused with juvenile Fungia. Cantharellus noumeae.

Habitat: Mid-reef slopes exposed to moderate wave action.

Abundance: Rare.
