Characters: Colonies are digitate, compact, with only slightly tapering branches. Mature colonies are cushion-like. Axial corallites are approximately twice the size of radial corallites. Radial corallites are short, tubular and outward facing, with distinctive wide openings.

Colour: Pale brown yellow or cream, occasionally with blue branch tips.

Similar Species: Acropora verweyi. Acropora digitifera has similar branch shapes but radial corallites do not have wide openings and branches are larger. Acropora arabensis and A. chesterfieldensis have appressed radial corallites and larger branches.

Habitat: Reef lagoons.

Abundance: Usually rare.
