Characters: Colonies are flat plates. Corallites are exsert, tubular or slightly tapered. The coenosteum and corallite walls are coarse with development of a hood. Thecal papillae are prominent and divide irregularly. Septa are thick with irregular margins.

Colour: Unknown.

Similar Species: The exsert corallites are unlike those of any other species. Closest to Montipora floweri .

Habitat: Unknown.

Abundance: Probably rare.

Taxonomic Note: Distinct from other Montipora. Known only from the original description of a specimen from the South China Sea.
