Characters: Colonies are corymbose with short thick branches. Axial, incipiant axial and radial corallites are hardly differentiated. Fully axial corallites are tubular, fully radial corallites strongly dimidiate. Walls are thick.

Colour: Brown with light branch tips.

Similar Species: Acropora anthocercis has a similar growth form and septal arrangement but lacks the thick dimidiate wall structure of radial corallites.

Habitat: Reef environments.

Abundance: Rare.

Taxonomic Note: A little-known species not recognised in any field study. Wallace (1999) notes that the holotype and a paratype are substantially different.
