Characters: Colonies are thin explanate laminae that may be flat and horizontal or upright and highly convoluted. Plates have ragged margins. Corallites are small with few costae. One or two costae per corallite are very exsert, with irregular large teeth.

Colour: Dark green or brown with white margins.

Similar Species: Mycedium mancaoi, which has fronds of similar appearance but corallites are larger, hooded and inclined towards the frond margins. See also Oxypora glabra and Echinophyllia echinata, both of which may have fronds of similar shape and general appearance.

Habitat: Protected reef environments.

Abundance: Uncommon.
