Characters: Colonies are short thick branches. Corallites are rounded, approximately 10 mm diaeter, not exsert except for primary septa of which there are 10. A second cycle may be formed. Primary septa fuse with the columella which are large solid domes. Small paliform lobes are usually present. Costae are indistinct. A row of coenosteum spinules occure midway between corallites.

Colour: Greenish-yellow with green polyps.

Similar Species: Madracis decactis also has 10 septa and M. formosa has similarly branching colonies.

Habitat: Reef habitats.

Abundance: Uncommon.
