Characters: Colonies are small bushes of short, highly contorted anastomosing branches that grade into verrucae. Branches usually have flattened tips. A small number of thecal papillae may be found around each corallite.

Colour: Brown with pale tips.

Similar Species: Montipora capitata, which has less compact branches and more distinctive verrucae. See also M. samarensis.

Habitat: Shallow protected reef environments.

Abundance: Rare.
